Embrace The Moment

WHAT IS THE EMBRACE THE MOMENT TO GIVE FUNDRAISING DRIVE?

During our Embrace the Moment to Give Drive, volunteers and staff raise funds for Oakwood School's Annual Fund. We ask all members of our community—parents, Trustees, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, staff and friends—to embrace Oakwood and make our school, our mission and most importantly our students, families, and faculty a philanthropic priority during our Giving Drive. We will kick off the Embrace the Moment to Give Drive on October 7th, and it will go through the end of the school year, but we ask that families pledge their support by December 31 and pay their pledge by June 30.

WHY SHOULD I GIVE TO THE ANNUAL FUND?

The Annual Fund is our highest fundraising priority because it covers the gap between tuition and the actual cost of providing an Oakwood education. Annual Fund gifts are used during the year in which they are received and make an immediate impact on our students.

WHAT ARE OAKWOOD'S LEADERSHIP GIVING LEVELS?

We recognize the generosity of our donors in the following giving levels in the Book of Gratitude, our Annual Report:

$500,000+
$250,000–$499,999
$100,000–$249,999
$50,000–$99,999
$25,000–$49,999
$15,000–$24,999
$10,000–$14,999
$7,500–$9,999
$6,000–$7,499
$3,000–$5,999
$1,000–$2,999
Up to $999

Those who contribute $10,000 or more annually will receive an invitation to attend our Head of School Circle event.

WHAT IS THE SPECIAL EVENT?

The Special Event is Oakwood's K-12 annual fundraising gala where we really put the fun in fundraising! You will not want to miss this springtime event, so stay tuned for more details.

WHY SHOULD I GIVE TO THE ENDOWMENT?

Endowment gifts help ensure the long-term health of Oakwood School. While the Endowment is protected in perpetuity, a small percentage is used each year for programs such as our financial assistance program, which benefits 20% of our families.

WHAT IS THE CAPITAL FUND?

Capital Campaigns raise funds to build new structures or make improvements to existing ones. While we are not currently in an active Capital Campaign, each family will be invited to participate in one during their time at Oakwood.

WHAT IS LEGACY GIVING?

For those who have experienced the magic of Oakwood and feel invested in providing for the future of our school, making an estate gift and joining the Acorn Society is a great option. Creating your Oakwood legacy can be a simple and quick process. If you have a will or trust, consider adding the school as a beneficiary on your IRA or other retirement account. If you would like to discuss these and other legacy options, please contact Director of Advancement, Nancy Leptuch Virrey at 818-732-3174.
